Motif Madness
An “over-the-top” canvaswork piece, filled with fun motifs worked
in a fun color scheme! Each motif is completely diagrammed, including
Jean Hilton stitches like Jessicas, Walnetos, double fan doubled,
Amadeus and crescents; plus waffle stars, 8-point star, herringbone squares,
Rhodes, Milanese pinwheels, Maltese interlace, waffle squares and reverse
waffle squares, Sprat’s heads, and more! The model is shown worked with
Caron Collection Watercolours Spring, Valdani Art Silk dyed rayon #M21,
Weeks Dye Works Aqua, Gentle Arts Sampler Thread Bubblegum, Neon Rays
N14 and N122, Kreinik #4 Braid 684 and 024, Kreinik #8 Braid 024,
Presencia Pearl Cotton #8 2323, and Presencia floss 2323, 2307, 3639,
and 1211, on 18 ct. white mono canvas. Of course, feel free to change the colors!
The finished design is 194 x 132 stitches,
about 11” x 7 ˝”.
